Lost in Europe has created a storymap that visualises the two-year long journey of Khalaf, a Sudanese boy who fled to the Netherlands at the age of thirteen.
This is the journey of Khalaf
Khalaf is from Sudan. He doesn’t go to school anymore, because his stepfather wants him to work at a garage. Sudan feels like a prison to him. At the age of 13, he was arrested and beaten by the police with wooden and iron sticks, while he was kept in a dark room. He couldn’t see a thing. At home, things aren’t any better. So, he decides to flee, in search for a better future in Europe.
You can find the entire storymap here (Dutch). Follow Lost in Europe’s instagram to not miss any updates.
